HAZWOPER, 8-hour Initial Training

The OSHA emergency response standard requires a minimum of eight hours of initial training for operations level emergency responders (defensive action). First responder operations level are trained to respond to hazardous substance releases to contain the release from a safe distance, keep it from spreading, and prevent exposures. Emphasis will be placed on responding in a defensive manner without actually trying to stop the release. This one-day course meets the initial training requirements of 1910.120(q). Topics include: basic hazard and risk assessment techniques, selection and use of personal protective equipment provided to the first responder operational level, basic hazardous materials terms, basic control, containment and/or confinement operations, basic decontamination procedures, implementation of emergency response plans and incident command systems and termination procedures.

*Pre-registration and payment are required. Hopefully you won't need to cancel, but if you do, please do so at least three business days prior to the course for a full refund. No refunds will be made after three business days prior to the course. This policy will be enforced, so please plan ahead if you need to cancel your attendance.
